Veterans’ Remembrance Day and Living History Encampment

Amqui Station in Madison will again host its popular Veterans Remembrance Day June 15th.Mark this day on your calendar for free family fun for all ages. This special day is designed to entertain and educate folks near and far about the sacrifices the Veterans made for us and to honor those Vets that served.

This unique day starts 10am with Living History Groups from WWII through Vietnam camped out on the grounds of Amqui Station, waiting for the call to action! You’ll meet folks that love to recreate the days of sounds of trumpets, gunfire, great music, and sacrifice. Soldiers in their uniforms will show off their gear and vehicles of the service they represent. You’ll meet Army, Marines, Army Air Corp, Air Force and more.

WWII Reenactment

Tour the museum and see a replica of Amqui Station as it looked during WWII and hear a man’s tale of his family’s connection to the station during the War as he displays his family photos, guns, swords and uniforms.  Come for a piece of history as military vendors will have actual medals, flags and more.

All through the day will be the chance to meet Veterans and honor them. The day will conclude with live music and dancing. June 15th will be a great day to thank a soldier and have a great time!
